Oculus Go AND Fleshlight Launch

#1

I just bought the Oculus Go and assumed (perhaps foolishly) that I would be able to use the launch to view vr vids. So far, I have not been successful. I’m a bit bummed out about it and hoped that there wassomething I can do. Do any of you own the oculus go? Any advice on how I might use the lauch with Go would be much apprciated?

The problem with the Go is that there’s not app/browser access to bluetooth, so there’s no way to talk to the launch directly from it. There’s ways to do this (like running a Buttplug server on another machine), but it’s pretty roundabout and still doesn’t fix the problem of getting the movie and haptics file onto the device. That solution also means you still need 2 machines (the go + a desktop/laptop) in the mix.

There’s a thread covering this over on realtouchscripts too: http://www.realtouchscripts.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=6462

I have found a workaround here: http://www.realtouchscripts.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=6462&start=20

It uses the “SamsungVR” playback option:

  1. It would be nice if ScriptPlayer could use Moonplayer or Pegasus as they have better playback options for VR

  2. There is also a slight delay in the launch when I play certain files from my OCG.

I figured that someone out there could build on this workaround (I wish I had the skills to do so!).
